Judy Holley will be visiting the guild in March to speak about how she uses photographs and photography in her quilts. Her techniques are very user friendly and can be adapted for use in our own quilts. Come and be inspired by her use of color in quilting as well!
In April, the blocks we've been working on since the February meeting will be unveiled. The challenge I put out was to piece four blocks of your choice, using whatever color scheme you want. This is also an opportunity to try something new, perhaps a technique or block you've been wanting to try. As a starting point, I shared some blocks that can be paper foundation pieced. If you missed my presentation, search the internet for the many tutorials in written and video form on paper foundation piecing.
Again, here's the challenge: Piece four blocks using any techique(s) you'd like. They can be any size and color(s). The blocks can be the same pattern, or not. This is an invitation to try something new.
After we share the blocks at the APRIL meeting, I will unveil the next phase of our ongoing program.
Founded in 2005 by quilters who wanted to share their love of quilting with others, our guild's purpose was to promote appreciation and interest in quilting and to provide educational opportunities. Reimagined in 2023 -- The Sassi Stripper Stitchers meets every third Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m at the Jones Creek Library. Come and go during that time. Work on any kind of stitchery. Sharing, show and tell, and fellowship.
