Message from Pam

Hello my talented beauties,

I hope all of you are enjoying the Holidays with family and friends.  This is a wonderful time of year when sewing machines are humming and hands are busy making gifts to give!

I have already sent out our SSQG 2021 Christmas Party invite for December 16, 2021 @ 6:30 pm at the Jones Creek Library.  We have notified the library that we will be using the library for our party with food, drinks and will probably be a little louder than normal.  They gave us the green light!!!  We will not be doing Zoom for the Christmas Party.   Cheryl and I have many fun things planned for the party, we are so excited about it!!!

I just want to thank you for blessing me with being you SSQG 2021 President!  As this year comes to an end, it has been my honor to serve our guild.  It takes a village and I want to thank everyone of you for what you contribute to the guild on a continuing basis.  Whether it is by serving on the board, serving on a committee, attending a meeting or everything you do to donate your time and skills to our charities.  Each Sassi Stripper Member is a “Rockstar” and truly an Angel on Earth”, thank you for all you do!!!  You each make such a difference in people’s lives and make this place a better world!!!

I have attached the November 2021 minutes that Cheryl sent me.  If you see any changes that need to be made or corrections that need to be made,  just let us know.   I want to thank and Introduce your new SSQG Board Members for 2022,

               President:  Sharon Holder

               Vice President:  Pam Tennyson

               Secretary:  Cheryl Myers

               Treasurer:  Marilyn Halvorsen

Hello my talented beauties,

I hope everyone is enjoying the change in seasons and welcoming cooler days.   We are having our Sassi Strippers Quilt Guild meeting on November 18, 2021 @ 6:30pm at the Jones Creek Library.

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was with the amazing attendance at our October meeting!  It was such a great thing to see some sweet faces that we haven’t seen in awhile.

I want to thank Valerie K. for an incredible program in October, she was so thorough and even handed out detailed instructions as well.  I can’t wait to make my vinyl project pouch, everyone enjoyed it so much!!!  I would also like to thank Valerie K. for taking the minutes at the meeting.

I have attached Cheryl’s minutes below, please read over them & let us know if any changes or corrections are needed.

The November program, “Quilt as you go” Hexagons is going to be presented by our very talented, Karen W.  Fun, fun, fun!

We have quite a few things that we will be discussing, as well as voting on.  We will be meeting in person and will be on Zoom as well. Please bring your show n tell and come join me for some fun, creativity & fellowship!

October meeting

Hello my talented beauties,

I hope all of you are doing well & have been able to do something creative and fun.  We are approaching Halloween which is full of bright colors, tricks and treats!  Please join me on October 21,2021 for our Sassi Strippers Quilt Guild Meeting @6:30 pm at the Jones Creek Library.  We will also be doing a Zoom meeting as well for our members who still aren’t comfortable going out in public yet.

Thursday there will be quilts delivered to Our Lady of the Lake and Cancer Services.  A total of 29 quilts and 16 port pillows will be delivered, well done ladies!  We will hear all about it from Merlene & Karen at the meeting tomorrow.  October’s program will be given by our extremely talented member, Valerie Kazlauskas.  Looking forward to Valerie teaching us how to make our very own, “Vinyl Project Bags”.   Fun, fun, fun!  I also want to give a big thank you to Marilyn H for sharing her placemats & ideas for Granparents Raising Granchildren, such a wonderful cause.

Please start thinking about volunteering to serve on the board for 2022.  It really is a lot of fun and so very needed to keep SSQG going strong.  There are so many members who would help and support you in any of the positions.   Everyone is so talented in our guild, y’all are a pleasure to serve.  So let’s get this party started  and bring your UFO’s, tabs and show n tell.  Come join me for a night of fun, creativity & fellowship!

Humbly yours,

Pam Tennyson

September Meeting

Hello my talented beauties,

I am hoping that all of you fared well through Hurricane Ida with minimal & or no damage.  It has been quite an active month weather wise.  With that being said, I watched the news tonight.  After seeing all the flooding that is going on in the Baton Rouge area right now, I do not want to put any of our guild members at risk.  Due to the weather we will NOT be meeting in person on September 16, 2021.  We will have our September 16th meeting virtually only through the ZOOM link at 6:30pm. That way everyone can stay home safe & sound out of harms way.  I hope you will join me & Ma!  If you have any problem getting on just give me a call on my cell.

I have to take a moment to recognize & thank Donna Estes for her incredible program last month.  She shared so much information, insight and inspiration, everyone enjoyed it so much!!!  We truly appreciated your time and sharing your knowledge with us!  You are truly have a gift!

I look forward to seeing you virtually tomorrow.  Stay safe and come join me for fun, creativity & fellowship!

Humbly yours,

Pam Tennyson

August Meeting

Hello my talented beauties,

I hope everyone is having time to be creative & staying safe!  As soon as we thought we were going to have some normality again, COVID-19 starts raising its ugly head again.  We will discuss keeping the zoom meetings for awhile longer because some of our members prefer to stay safe at home and use zoom.  I will be sending out a zoom link for the August meeting in a separate email.  We will be having our meeting as well in person at the Jones Creek Library on August 19, 2021 @ 6:30 pm.  Our own, Donna Estes will be doing our program on, “How should this quilt top be quilted?”  I can’t wait, I am so excited for Donna to share her talent & knowledge with our guild members!  I have attached an updated Membership List, the July Minutes & This years Treasury Report.  Thank you Cheryl & Merilyn for the reports & minutes.  So come on, bring your show n tell & join me for fun, laughs, creativity & fellowship!

Humbly yours,

Pam Tennyson

Elsie's Quilts

Elsie H.  was a long-time member of the Sassi Strippers Quilt Guild.

She loved to make charity quilts, sometimes dozens a year.

At the time of her passing in 2020, Elsie left behind several quilt tops.

Guild members are now quilting and finishing those quilts.

This one was finished by Karen W.
