President Karol Guidry called the meeting to order. She introduced the officers and asked about
visitors.
The meeting minutes for the previous month were
posted to the blog Site. Sharon made a
motion for the minutes to be accepted as posted after a small correction. Pam seconds the motion. The members voted in favor of the
motion. Thank you Betty for taking the
March meetings.
Treasurer, Elsie Hamway presented the treasurer
report. The balance for February was
$1,065.90. Betty made a motion for the
Treasurer’s Report to be accepted as given.
Sharon seconds the motion. The
treasurer’s report was accepted.
BLOG SITE - Valerie Valle
Meeting minutes and pictures and etc. are posted on the
blog site. Everyone is encouraged to read the blogsite and make comments.

Unfinished Projects (UFO’s) – Jessie Comeaux
A copy of the blank form is posted on to the blog
site. Enter the game and have fun
racing for the lead and have the bonus of moving a lot of unfinished
projects. To qualify as finished, the
quilt has to be quilted, bound and preferably brought to show and tell during a
meeting. Just sign up your ufo’s with
Jessie. A quilt can be added anytime
during the year.
Tabs for Ronald McDonald House - Betty Braud
Betty Braud is the quilt guild contact of this charity
project. Just remember when you pop a
top pull the tab and collect them to bring to a meeting. We are giving them to
the reopened New Orleans McDonald’s house.
Door Prizes – Sharon Holder
Sharon will collect the door prizes. She needs items to
add to the selections. She has plenty
of magazines.
Quilt Show – Renee’ Hoeprich
Renee’ is the chair for our Annual Quilt Show this
year. She will need some committee
members to help her. Our annual quilt
show is always greatly received by the community. Setup is planned for August 1 & 2. Demo Day is planned for August 23rd. We plan to take down the show August 28th. We need someone to handle Public Relations.
Charity Quilts – Merlene & Elsie
The guild will making charity quilts will go to
Generations Hospice, OLOL Children’s Hospital and The Cancer Services. We will also continue to make the stuffed
teddy bears to donate for the Children’s Hospital. The quilts you make need be no smaller than 50 x 60. You may use any pattern you wish.
Just Do It – Pam Tennyson
The bear bash was a success. Plan a sew day for charity quilts.
Program – Renee’
Paper pieced blocks of your choice to do different studies
each month. Complimentary colors were
used to make the colors.
Show and Tell
Announcements:
Red Stick Quilt Shop will be closing this Saturday and
open in a new location on Stumberg.
Livonia, LA Guild has a Sit & Sew every 4th
Monday of the month in 2014 from 9 a.m.‘til at the First Baptist Church in
Livonia.
Red Stick Wool Hookers meet at library every Thursday.
Embroidery Guild of America has both day and night meeting
at our library.
Island Batiks web site has free patterns for Veterans
