    11. Charity Quilts (Merlene L. & Karen W.) Merlene and Karen delivered 150 bears and 16 quilts to OLOL Children’s Hospital and 143 bears, 16 quilts, and 24 port pillows to Cancer Services.
    12. Red/White/Blue Quilts (Sharon H./Mynan G.) Today 20 quilts were delivered to the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson. This was the guild’s third delivery for a total of 60 quilts delivered. Next delivery will be in March or April 2020.
  5. Unfinished Business – Burp cloths were turned in that will be delivered to the Woman’s Hospital NICU. Directions for making the burp cloths were distributed at the October meeting.


  1. New business – Cheryl showed Waterproof Pouches for the Homeless that are made from discarded medical instrument covers. If anyone wants to sew some of these, Cheryl has the contact for obtaining the materials. Another Block Drive was begun for our Red, White, and Blue quilts for veterans. We will be using the instructions from the 2020 QOV block drive, but using the blocks for our own Louisiana War Veterans project. https://www.qovf.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Block-drive-2020-Revision2-2019-0830.pdf
  2. Program – Fran gave instructions for making a “Scenic Panes” quilt which creates a window pane effect that allows a large print fabric to keep its overall look. She showed examples of fabrics that would benefit from this technique as well as completed tops.
  3. Show and Tell – Mynan, Karen, Donna, Monette, Merlene, Sharon H.
  4. Announcements – The guild Christmas Party will be Thursday, December 12 at 6 p.m. at City Cafe (members purchase their own dinners). There will also be an optional $15 gift exchange.
