  1. President/Call to order (Cheryl M.) – 6:33 p.m.
  2. Sign In, Welcome to Members and Guests – 13 + 2 guests who became members. Welcome Dianne and Caroline.
  3. Reading of the minutes and motion to accept –

  4. Reports of officers and committees
    1. Treasurer’s report (Fran F.) –
      1. Beginning Balance: $1,071.58

    2. VP/Programming (Pam T.) - Investigating future program ideas.

    6. Unfinished Projects (UFOs – Mynan G. ) - Prizes were selected by members who showed UFOs at previous meetings.
    7. Tabs (Mynan) – Still collecting tabs for Ronald McDonald House.
    8. Door Prizes (Valerie K.) - Betty, Pam, Elsie
    9. Just Do It (Cheryl M.)
    10. Quilt Show (SSQG membership)
    11. Charity Quilts (Merlene L. & Karen W.) 20 charity quilts have been turned in so far. Expecting another 10 for the October delivery of quilts and bears.
    12. Red/White/Blue Quilts (Sharon H./Mynan G.) 6 quilts submitted tonight.
  5. Unfinished Business – A Judy Holley Class will be explored. Maybe the #2 New York Beauty (Double Ring) class. Cost would be about $30 per participant. Probably on a Saturday, not on an LSU home football game day.

  1. New business – Kathy visited with a Volunteer Coordinator at Woman’s Hospital to ask about possible charity items for the guild to make and donate. Suggestions included knitted/crocheted hats and port pockets for adult cancer patients; and, small quilts or burp cloths or bibs for babies graduating from the NICU. SSQG will plan a Sew Day. Members should bring any patterns they might find for these items.
  2. Program – Valerie presented an overview of Judy Holley’s Pet Portraits Class that she and Cheryl attended. Both showed samples.
  3. Show and Tell – Pam, Merlene, Monette, Caroline, Marilyn, Elsie
  4. Announcements –
