Founded in 2005 by quilters who wanted to share their love of quilting with others, our guild's purpose was to promote appreciation and interest in quilting and to provide educational opportunities. Reimagined in 2023 -- The Sassi Stripper Stitchers meets every third Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m at the Jones Creek Library. Come and go during that time. Work on any kind of stitchery. Sharing, show and tell, and fellowship.

January Meeting Rescheduled -- 1/29/18
Boy
aren't we glad its not 18 degrees! Hope all of you are doing
well.
As
you know our regular meeting was canceled because of the weather. The
library was closed. They have allowed us to reschedule our meeting
until Monday
the 29th (this coming
Monday) at 6:30.
Don't
forget to come early to choose fabric, notions, or kits from a former
quilter. We will be bringing car loads of stuff as I mentioned
in the last email. We will be there by 6. Please bring something to
use to take your goodies home.
We
will also talk about next year and discuss GSQA membership.
Can't
wait to see everyone
Sharon
PS:
the GSQA meeting is this
Saturday (the 27th) at St John's United Meth.
Church
at 230
Renee Dr.
That's just south of the Gardere/Highland road intersection. The
meeting is from 10am-3pm.

Meeting Canceled
Friends,
I just saw the forecast for tomorrow.
The low tomorrow night
is supposed to be in the teens or low 20ies. I don't want anyone
driving at night on roads that may still have ice on them. I will ck
with the library and see if we can schedule a make up meeting in the
next 2 weeks. The library is closed today so I will not know anything
until tomorrow.
I will let everyone know as soon as I can. Please ck with your
friends in our group to make sure they got the email.
Thanks.
Stay warm and safe,
Sharon

January Meeting -- 1/18/18
Good Morning,
Hope all of you are warm with this cold
weather. I am hunkered down and sewing intermittently.
I am really looking forward to our meeting
Thurs. We will be making plans for 2018 and have some ideas for
learning new techniques and doing new challenges.
One of my former patients was a quilter who
passed away about 2 years ago. Her husband called me around
Thanksgiving to see if I would take her quilting/sewing stash. I
agreed and Mynan and I picked 2 SUV loads of fabric and all
sorts of sewing stuff. We will bring a lot of it to our meeting
to share with the group. We have fabric for backs, fabric to
piece blocks, scraps and even some kits. Some things have been
started, others are just put together. Please try to come a little
early and bring something to carry your goodies home. The husband was
wanting her things to be used. I did tell him that we would make some
charity quilts from some of the fabric.
Please come and help us kick off a great 2018.
Looking forward to seeing everyone,
Sharon

October Meeting -- 10/19/17
Good evening ladies,
Just wanted to touch base with you about our meeting this Thursday night. We have a fun evening on tap.
We will be having a Game and Goodies Night. We will play Left
,Right and Center with 5" squares and fat quarter BINGO. Please bring 15
5" squares of any fabric you choose and 2 fat quarters. One fat quarter
should be Christmas fabric and one in any fabric. The more people who
play the more fun we will have. Also please bring a snack to share -
sweet or savory your choice. We will have water, coke, diet coke and
sprite.
We also need to appoint a committee to rec. a slate of officers for
next year. The names will be presented at the November meeting for a
vote.
There will also be a discussion and tentative decision about the
date and location for our Christmas Party. In past years, we have
enjoyed City Cafe but would certainly consider a new place. I think
everyone had a blast last year.
Please bring your new Sassi Strippers name badges to the meeting.
For anyone who was not at the last meeting and who wants to know the
design and get the base fabric that was handed out handed out, call me. I will get it to you before or at the meeting.
Looking forward to seeing everyone Thursday.
